On Sunday August 23rd, 2020, Jacob Blake, a 29 year old black man, was shot in the back 7 times and paralyzed by Kenosha, Wisconsin Police. During the chaos there were 3 children in the SUV and children in the yard. Jacob's attorney, Patrick Salvi, Jr. says that there was no weapon found in the SUV, and doctors say it'll be a miracle if he ever walks again. This is an ongoing investigation to found out why Kenosha Wisconsin Police shot Blake multiple times in the back at close range. Allegedly Jacob was trying to break up a domestic dispute between two women when police were called. Video from an eyewitness shows Jacob walking away from cops towards his SUV. And after Jacob opened the door police officers shot him 7 times in the back leaving him paralyzed.

This recent cop shooting has provoked violent protests from angry neighbors, which then led to an overnight curfew. People all over are once again outraged, including NBA players of the Milwaukee Bucks. The Milwaukee Bucks are boycotting Game 5 of their playoff series to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake. It is also being said that players from the Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors are also in discussion regarding boycotting NBA playoff games. And among some of the protesters in Kenosha, a 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was charged with homicide after shooting during Kenosha protest. Frustrated people are protesting all over the nation. Therefore Jacob's mother and family are requesting for the arrest of the police officer’s and peaceful protesting. On Tuesday during a news briefing, Jacob Blake Sr. said “They shot my son seven times.” “Seven times. Like he didn’t matter. But my son matters. He’s a human being, and he matters." This is an ongoing investigation, so more details to follow.
